Thank-you to all our new and returning players, we are excited to welcome you to the 2024 SUMMER Season!
Field Location – Shouldice Fields (Encana & Stampeder) 1515 Home Rd NW.
Season Dates – Thursday Evenings
July: 4, 11, 18, 25
August: 1, 8, 15 (semi-finals), 22 (finals)
Adjustments: team adjustments may occur between your roster being sent out and the program start date as we need to accommodate late registrations and best place each participant. If a change is made that affects your registration, you will be emailed with the new information. Thank you in advance for understanding if we need to move your player!
Special Requests: We did our best to grant every request to the best of our ability. We thank you for your understanding that requests are not a guarantee and that the happiness of all our players is always a top priority.
Schedule: The Master Schedule, including all the practice and game dates can be viewed on our website www.cgffl.ca.
Dashboard: To see your team’s schedule and a list of your teammates, log into your account online (www.cgffl.ca) or on the app. Navigate to the “Dashboard” then click on your team name (under Role/Team).
Uniform Handout: At your first practice session, you will be assigned your jersey / belt and flags. If you are unable to attend the first session, don’t worry: Your coach will have a jersey ready for when you next attend.
Uniform Return/Replacement: Uniforms will need to be returned at the last session you attend. If you miss this session unexpectedly, you can contact us for drop off locations. Missing, lost, stolen or unreturned uniforms are subject to replacement fees: Jersey: $100, Flags $25.
Equipment: For safety reasons, we require all participants to wear pants (bottoms) with NO POCKETS. We appreciate your cooperation with this requirement, if pockets are present, fingers can become caught when reaching for a flag and injuries DO occur. We also recommend rubber soccer or football cleats as they help with traction, a water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, and appropriate clothing for the weather.
Weather: We play in all weather—heat, rain, smoke & snow. Participation is always at the parent's discretion. We will halt sessions during electrical storms or very poor air quality. In the event of heavy rain, fields can become flooded, if this happens alternate locations will be posted online and at the main field. Sessions will only be cancelled if unsafe conditions exist. No make-up sessions or refunds can be offered for weather cancellations due to advance field bookings.
Attendance: No need to let the coach know if you can’t attend, we have flexible attendance and understand that players may miss sessions due to fun summer activities. If you need to withdraw from the program, please let us know by emailing info@cyffl.ca. Please note that refunds are not issued for withdrawal (more information about refunds is available on our website under the “Refunds” tab).
Rules: Rules of the game, league rules and code of conduct can be found on our website under the “Regulations” tab. The most important rule is to be kind to your teammates, opposing players, spectators and staff. Referees will issue penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Inclusivity: We welcome all players without discrimination, valuing inclusivity and safety. Teams may have members ranging from beginners to elite players. Our focus is on recreation, personal growth, and having fun. Negative behavior, such as teasing, will be addressed and should be reported to the coach if unseen. We expect all players to foster a supportive environment for their peers.
The information in this email is available on our website under “Welcome Letter”, you may also look for specific answers to any questions you may have under “Program Details”, or email us at info@cyffl.ca with any questions.
We look forward to seeing you on the field!
Don, Karen and Kimberley.
